I found this doing some research on adult ADD. I am sorry to see her so sad! I have tried a bunch of different meds but am not a fan of stims. Been on Straterra for 5 weeks and will give it a few more, so far only side effects nothing beneficial. On a lighter note, this woman is gorgeous =)

@MsSpencerinfrance some doctors do not believe in it either and the general reaction to all the local doctors I have is lets get you off these meds ASAP you are a grown up now and do not need them. Believe me I have tried and I know many adults with ADD that do not use meds but I do and I need them to so what I do.

Hay I am 31 and I have ADD. I know how your feel. I have been on medication for a long time and at first it can feel like the best thing in the world but be aware that you may get some of the side effects and need to change medication. I have had problems with some medications making me zombi like, very very nervous. But I am 100 better on meds than off. I have found that if I till people I have it they use it against me, in very silly ways. so don't. some doctors do not believe in it.

So just curious gonna shoot this question at you see if it will put my mind at ease. So i'm extremely impulsive , constantly moving, partially reclusive. But the this biggest issue i find to overcome is when im in social situations and people get too close or ask me personal questions out of the blue or in the middle of a conversation it's like an alarm goes off in my head, i even get embarrassed and get all red in the face. All my co-workers look at me funny , even my friends seem to shun me.

Thank you for posting this, it is very brave. There's plenty of reasons why a person might miss out on being diagnosed with "AD/HD" as a child. Your sister shouldn't believe that fool of a doctor, and seek a second opinion.

You lost me at 3 secs.
Maybe plan ahead & even do a 2nd take.

don't over emphasize the fact that you got diagnosed with ADD because doing so can cause you to give up on trying to get better which you have been trying to do day and night for years ... Take that diagnosis as an extra piece of information to keep in mind, and stay in the here and now, meditate... read 'The Power of Now' by Eckhart Tolle....
I usually dont post any comments on videos on here but this time i felt like i should.... good luck

@trackohbeast Of course you are fine- to them you are perfect. Don't worry I have had the same experience with my parents. There is also a potential guilt feeling for not doing best for you which is stupid but parents do that. Trying to convince anybody about having ADD is tough. The only person who thought me going to a doctor was good was one friend who is the most positive and successful person I know. Why? Because that's what he would do - act on a problem .

Hi every body. Its been a year since I started meds and it has been the best year of my life. Going to get diagnosed the best thing i have done in my life. I can't even think of the second best. ADD is not a disorder its how you are compared to the population norm. We are very sensitive to stimulii in many ways which makes life hard but also can give us vision that others will never have. Meds don't cure you they change a set point to make you work better in society. Happy new year everybody.
my parents dissagree with my disorder and say i'm fine. but i still feel obligated to be tested. what should i do?

@trackohbeast
Although I'm sure your parents love you and only want the best for you, they are not you. I feel you should do what makes you feel good, and if your experiencing negative life affects perhaps this is the problem so I don't see how it could hurt to at least get tested and go from there......best of luck!
