Marineland 1993: Sea Lion and Killer Whale Show

My family has been going through old tapes and we finally came across a Marineland tape from 1993. This was probably my first trip to Marineland, I would have only been 2 years old in this video.

It's interesting to see how much has changed over the years. For those not familiar with Marineland, the King Waldorf Stadium held orcas until they were moved to what is now Friendship Cove (Neocia stayed in the stadium until she passed away) and then the dolphins were moved to the stadium.

I apologize for the cuts in this video, I was obviously not the one filming this or I would have recorded the entire thing!

The video features Kandu 7, Nootka 5 with Neocia/Baby October, and Kiska.

In my opinion, its way better now then it was back in 93.. Although it would be cool to see the killer whales there again

@marcoecw Of course, I agree completely! :) I do agree that a formal killer whale show would be nice, but I don't want to see orcas in that stadium again.

@cefurst1 Don't forget it was built so long ago before people knew much about space requirements of marine mammals. As humans we've certainly learned a lot more about them since then.
