Brenda Salter-McNeil speaks at Biola University on February 11, 2008 as part of the Centennial Chapel Series.

For over 20 years, Rev. Dr. Brenda Salter McNeil has been known as a leader in racial and ethnic reconciliation. Past experience in the field of racial reconciliation include serving for nearly 13 years as the Regional Coordinator of Multiethnic training for InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, a Christian outreach to college and university students. Such expertise has made her a highly sought after speaker.

Dr. Salter McNeil founded Overflow Ministries, Inc. in 1995. This ministry is a non-profit, faith-based organization which is devoted to authentic racial healing. She is also the president and founder of Salter McNeil & Associates, LLC, a racial and ethnic reconciliation firm based in Chicago.

The McNeil Reconciliation Change Model was developed to help the culture of organizations and institutions from the inside out and promote racial healing. Dr. Salter McNeil co-authored the book, The Heart of Racial Justice: How Soul Change Leads to Social Change (InterVarsity Press, 2005).

She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Rutgers University, a Master of Divinity degree from Fuller Theological Seminary, and a Doctorate of Ministry from Palmer Theological Seminary (formerly Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary.)

She and her husband, Dr. J. Derek McNeil have two children.
