Throughout the history of Vietnam of 5,000 years (2879 BC to Present); the nation fought the Chinese for 1,000 years (111 BC to 938 AD) and French/Japanese/American for 100 years (1887 to 1975) years and others for independence. Although Vietnam has independence right now, the nation still has to fight fo freedom and happiness. President Ho Chi Minh states that independence, freedom, and happiness are dear to the hearts of each and every Vietnamese and we will continue to improve, surely and steadily, until these three goals are achieved in the 21st century.
