Lunch at a pier in St. Petersburg, serenaded by a raucous black bird (he was chasing off a flock of other birds, they were all keen to get to any crumbs or scraps left on the plates before the hostesses cleared the tables!)... followed by a nice ride on the Dolphin Queen. Ship's captain narrated with a lot of useful information, and Adam and Abby learned quite a bit I think.
Bilmar Beach Resort was unusually busy this time of year thanks to a sand sculpture contest and festival... amazing work by the artists, my pictures did no justice at all. Only downside was the noise level from the festival's live music and crowds til late at night, but we got enough sleep.
This beach was the best for collecting tiny shells and we even found some decent mid-size ones! :-D There were also some intact sand-dollars; Terri put one in the bag, but it disintegrated before we got back to the hotel. :-( There were live mussels or oysters or something; these we flung back into deeper water. Adam enjoyed catching little fish in his hands here as well. Terri wondered what might be eating the little fish =:-0 and so we did not go out too deep. ;-)
Music in the beach walk segment is from Youtube's audio swap.
