Even at 12 years old, you can see the power and the magnificance of Secretariat. You can also see that he enjoyed getting attention.

when i was 12 yrs old i was at the kentucky derby and had the honor of meeting this beautiful animal..he was amazing and oh so smart..and a camara ham..i touched this beautiful horse...penny was very nice to me and i was just a little kid of 12 yrs old from indiana..i could only think how it broke her heart when big red died..mine was.

The fact that Secretariat ran without the use of drugs makes him truly the Greatest race horse. Hats off to the Irish and English! They run on hay, oats and water.
