@DirkjeA Thats cold my freind !! we are in a cold snap also but where I live is near the coast so we have been lucky so far I would appreciate you sending me some footage of Jan as I enjoyed his talents & I also have focus on dvd.I have visited holland & drove across it on my way to germany so I know how exposed it is to the weather. @ragnor56 Jan is still around and making great music. He has his own band and they perform regularly. He is as good as ever. I will send you some of his stuff if you like.

@DirkjeA Old Grey Whistle test on BBC2 was where I used to watch some great stuff & where focus were filmed live so you are right but overall I am still not convinced they got the coverage from the media to put them on a par with the other greats who emerged in that era , Akkerman despite his unique talent was part of a trio who produced some talented music but he is alongside many in the genre who were also gifted musicians..let me know if he is still around....keep well,,,,,,,,,,,,

@ragnor56 Late reaction I know, but red this only just today. Jan Akkerman was voted best guitarist of the world by Melody Maker in the 70tees (don't know the exact year, you should check on Wiki or so) There are some great vids of Jan's performances at the BBC studio's, so never recognised is not true, maybe not by those corporate freaks of whatever stupid labels that were in music business for the money, or those silly top40 voters,but to us music lovers he was always a great talent.
