Gyro Stablized Camera Platform

Single degree of freedem stabilization in a semi-compact unit.
Hardware: Hitec 7950TH Servo, AtMega88V microcontroller, Sparkfun MLX90609 - 300degrees/s gyro.

Designed to reduce vertical jarring in vehicle mounted cameras. The amount of jerk it can stablized is proportional to the camera's moment of inertia and the torque/speed of the servo. The only variable you can use to optimize stablization in servo horn length. A MATLAB program was used to find the ideal servo horn length of 0.6" for a typical camera so that the platform stabilizes at 5hz.

Most importanly, any idea how long the battery would last?

@19Photographer76 Average current draw is .51 amps under average stabilization. I was running a fairly small 1500mah LiPo. Therefore, ~3 hours. After all my prototyping, testing, and demonstration, I have only charged the battery twice.

@amasucci111 great work. Just seen Your video, and Your comment on speed of servo. Take a look at this elm-chan.org/works/vlp/report_­e.html especially a part on galvo. Maybe something like this instead of servo... Just an idea...
