Here at CES in Las Vegas, we were lucky enough to be awarded with a few hours of playtime with the Lytro camera at the Wynn Garden Lobby. For those of you unfamiliar with this peculiar weapon of the digital imaging persuasion, the Lytro camera's specialty is that it can capture images without the need to focus. Instead, images can be focused after the shot is taken. This is a breakthrough in digital imaging technology, and certainly a format that competitors like Canon and Nikon will have to contend with when the Lytro ships in late February. http://tchno.be/yzo1Tu

  • It's great for UFO hunters. They never get a good image of UFOs, the images are always blurred, Now they can film and then focus!

  • I don't understand why people hate the design so much, it's different, and makes people think "WTF" when you're using one. I don't see the problem here.

  • Have there been any real world test samples and reviews of the Lytro?

  • i dont like the box design of it

  • who else thinks mike perlman is HOT&SEXY!

  • the guy's so hot....

  • @AlohaBiatch Canon T2i can't guarantee that you focus on the object you want

  • @doormagic :)))) imagine a big foot in focus :))

  • 499 for 16GB and no video recording? No thank you. I will settle with a Canon T2i dslr which costs the same and while it may not be as small and while it cant change depth of field on the go, it can take excellent 1080p video and can certainly take better looking photos

  • I've been curious about it, frankly if Mike likes it, I take that as a good thing so now I'm considering it more seriously

  • Led Flash ?? think people think
