"The man in the hat is back...". Kate Capshaw, now married to director Steven Spielberg, co-stars as Indiana's love interest. Generally credited (along with "Gremlins") with the creation of the PG-13 rating, as many felt the scenes of violence in both movies were too much for a PG rating, but not enough for an R rating. This part is the best of the tetralogy. It avoids to depict fake Nazi sceneries, with American actors speaking horrible German accents and really brings back the big-budget adventure movie of the 1920's and 30's.
Definitely not as good as the other two, but still a lot more fun than most films. It would have been far better without Kate Capshaw. She was unbelievably annoying and wasn't even good looking.
what I'm saying is that the last crusade was PG-13. At least that what it says on the cover of it. And also Raiders of the Lost Ark was rated R at one point because they had the faces melt off. So they made Diterich's head melt down or something, and made Belloq's head blow up. Then it got a PG rating appaently. At least thats what I found.. The Temple of Doom was PG.
@aacs4 they didnt have pg 13 back then. p3 13 wasnt invented untill the mid 80s. or late 80s. all they had was g, pg, and r. but this movie couldhave had an R rating
Just to help you guys with this, the 1st movie to get the PG-13 rating was "Red Dawn" which was in 1984. "Temple of Doom" supposedly inspired the PG-13 rating...
