(From rushlimbaugh.com):
One of Rush's favorite methods of pointing out the foibles and failures of liberalism falls under the philosophy of "illustrating absurdity by being absurd." Rush Limbaugh the Television Show, from its earliest days, gave Rush the chance to do just that before a live, juiced-up studio audience. There's nothing like live feedback, and when Rush skewered the prevailing liberal doom and gloom of the day, he brought the house down.

Such was the case on our episode of February 5, 1993. Back then as now, do-gooder liberal groups who failed to realize that we're all going to die no matter how many warning labels we put on life, were warning us about a new deadly danger every couple of days. In 1993, cellular phones hadn't been on the market for more than a decade, and as they were associated with affluence, they had come under attack - for causing brain cancer.

To show his solidarity with the then-budding cellular phone industry, Rush came up with an idea - and in the process, made broadcast history as the first talk show host to do an entire program with a cell phone taped to his head! Yes, you read right. Rush had a big, important dinner after that program, but risked temporary harm to his hair by adhering one of those bulky, 1993 cellular devices to his ample cranium.

You might not think this was much of a risk, as Rush does his show with half his brain tied behind his back anyway "just to make it fair." But that wasn't the point. The point was that this industry was under attack by the same sort of mentality that feared fire when our cave dwelling ancestors first discovered it, and that feared the invention of the lightbulb would put candlemakers out of business.

This bit, as so many on the TV show, was so far ahead of its time, you'll want to watch it again and again.

  • You are a moron. Just because you don't agree with someone you want them to die? I don't like the left and their talk show hosts but that doesn't mean I want them to be dead. Grow up and show respect to your nation.

  • Now thats just funny!

  • The left still pedals this crap too.

Hotdogs cause cancer. Cell phones cause cancer. Bottled water, facebook, deodorant, potato chips, soap, vitamin e, chocolate, mouth wash, tooth paste, and finally sun block. I thought sun block prevented cancer?

I don't believe a word of it. Much like global warming is man-made.

  • Recently(2011), cell phones may be causig bee population to die? Any improvements in life can cause side effects. Hopefully cell phones will not have any long term effects on users? Thankyou. James Sasse.

  • @zenviper No, that wasn't what I meant. The buffoon who I was reffering to removed his comment, that little coward. I'm just saying to treat your fellow Americans, (who are what make up this nation) with some repsect, regardless of political views. I don't like Left and their talk shows, but I don't wish them ill by any means.

  • @TheMadMusicMan Because not showing respect to Rush is not showing respect to America? Honestly though, iam with him on this topic. Still, one of the biggest Dbags in america. i wonder if he was on pain killers and on a gay sex line in this vid.

  • I love how Rush routinely brings up on his radio program the notion that you could have a study prove that shows people who die in car accidents most likely ate carrots less than a week before the accident.

  • @dgallegos4201 Like Morton Downey Jr.

  • Mountain Dew?

  • @Starry2000 you might wanna check ur facts, cause your just wrong, tjeir is no scientific proof despite your claim, try googling it

  • @CopyboyVideo oh yeah, like their is any proof of that, they just think it might

  • This is actually pretty funny I will say--he's funny when he teases ideology, fallacy, and general human nature but not when he attacks people unnecessarily.
