@chuck753753 I'm very confused about the cello possition... I've been playing for about 6 months and I'm still not sure if I'm doing it right... could you maybe put a video on here and post it to us?

@Max3851 For the past 4 months I have been suffering from various types of tendonitis/nerve issues. I have seen a physical therapist, massage therapist, orthopedic, and am currently seeing a chiropractor who is giving acupuncture. It's been an annoying process. I have missed many concerts/competitions, and am not going to be able to play in college and fulfill my scholarship money because of my injuries. The good thing is, I'm slowly getting better. I appreciate your advice. :D

@assilem405 try with the heel at the base of the neck of the Cello in contact with your stirnum, for the moment it sounds as if the heel is on your left breast (owch!)

I have a question. I've been playing the cello for around 7 years now and am working on my position of my instrument (so I can correctly use my bow with contact with the strings. As a woman, I find it difficult to hold the cello and feel comfortable with it resting on my breast (I'm serious here people), to me it seems easier for guys since it's flat...but I'm having a real problem with this and wouldn't mind for some advice.

Well....I dont pay for cello lessons.....I'm just lucky that were i live there are music schools...Free and good music school XD

squeezing or holding the instrument with the knees is not natural it will only cause tension in other places. The cello should rest on the left leg, and the player should lean in with their chest. gravity will take care of the rest.
As far as Dan221075's comment, true we all have a choice to not watch, but more importantly we all have to freedom to voice how we feel about what has been posted. Just as you don't have to read other people's comments.
cheers,
good luck with the cello all!

i suppose that if you want to learn the cello through 2-minute instructional videos on youtube, you may not be looking for perfect technique.
but if you want to play the cello without pain, with a good sound, and with hope to improve in the future, please know that there is a lot of misinformation in this man's videos.
