st.louis isn't that dangerous of a city. the numbers were blown up because they only found the crime for north side st.louis. really if you take into count for south side then crime numbers are greatly reduced. It's even better in the suburbs

Negative comments and stats on St. Louis are because of the disadvantage of the city limits being a small island around which are beautiful neighborhoods that other cities have in there statistical basis. e.g. Jacksonville Fla is like 450 square miles while St. Louis in about 70 square miles in the oldest part of the metro area. If you took the oldest 70 square miles of any large city, the stats would reflect more poorly on that city.

I always loved to see the Arch from I-64 when I was coming into St. Louis from one of my many overnight trips from Jacksonville, Florida to see a special lady friend of mine!

Bred, born, and raised in St. Louis. Despite the media portraying it as "dangerous"...I can't imagine anywhere else in the country that I'd love to call -home-. I've been all over that city. From the South Side to The Loop to North St. louis and the suburbs. Never had a problem. It has it's flaws...but so does New York, boston, Chicago, L.A., Dallas, etc...etc.. Any large city will have bad areas. Just ogtta know where to go and not go in any place.
