Filmed in the stairwell of an Elgin city centre car park, Sleeper is a story about a group of teenagers trapped by supernatural forces in the stairwell of a car park. A local myth tells how the car park is constructed over an ancient Pictish temple to a God who drew power from human sacrifice. Looking for a way back into the world and a chance to be reborn in the blood of the innocent, the ancient god finds the perfect priestess in Vivienne, the sultry outsider with a hidden purpose.
Working with two professional film makers Sleepers was devised, created and performed by a group of young people from the Elgin area.
The project was supported by Moray Council Arts Development and funded through Eden Court Theatre's Creative Identities - a Cashback for Communities project. The film contains strong language and scenes of mild horror and therefore only suitable for those over 15 years.
