After some practice hovering auto and little quick stops (they have to be little because my space is little) I finally got up enough courage to fly across the river to the large island, west, down stream, where I had checked out a place to land a few weeks ago. I was surprised at how much I need to continue to push the stick forward to keep accelerating and did not accelerate to the speed I thought I would as I went over the water. I was thinking I'd want to go faster in case the engine quit. Same on the way back. But all went well and I did more flying after my first river crossing and had another great day learning to fly my Mosquito Ultralight Helicopter by Innovator Technologies. It feels like being Superman! Faster than a Bald Eagle, leap across wide rivers in a single bound, what a high!

  • Do you need a helicopter private pilot license for these things???

  • @lkdjsnvlmksd One of the last freedoms left in the USA - IF YOU follow the rules under FAA Title 14, part 103. God Bless America. Land of the free, home of the brave.

  • Really nice!! Did you design and build it by yourself?

  • @shashair Thanks, no, John Uptigrove designed it and offers a kit.

  • Just curious, what's the price tag on one of those things?

  • @regcav87 About $30k

  • SCARED THE SHIT OUT OF ME LARRY..!!!!!

  • nice,, now stop scaring us n fly in an OPEN field lol

  • @LarryCanFly You would HAVE to be brave to fly that thing. Is there any maintenance schedule on the moving parts, or does one just count on crashing it before it disintegrates from normal use?

  • @snellbill398 Yeah.. But it wouldn't be nearly as cool!

  • would it not be cheaper and safer to use hip waders?

  • i almost had some heart attacks while learning rc helicopter ^^

learning to fly something like that must be really scary at first .

  • i was with you every second! fly well my intrepid aviator!

  • Nice flying. I once heard a saying comparing helicopters to airplanes, that a helo is like riding a uni-cycle while juggling. Looks tough.

  • You CRAZAAAYY!

  • You, Larry, are a BRAVE Larry...
