    you make the horimono before hardening the blade? , also , where you get your tools for carving the steel?, or what material you used to make them? , are they tool steel , tempered?..thanks , great work!

  • @kyamelon Sorry for late answer, didn't get a notify. No you temper the blade first, and the horimono is made above the hamon line where the steel is softer. If tempered after the making of the horimono and bo-hi for that matter the blade will warp and may failed in several ways.

    The carving tools is forged from old metal files and then carefully shaped and sharpened.
