Read my article on SFCrowsnest (Google: "Thunderbird Fuel" about how the Thunderbirds really did it. I always put the delay of TB1 launch from behind the lounge to the swimming pool to allo pre-launch checks. The bay behind the lounge is used for repairs and such not the take-off area. Geoff

@1madhammer Also, to build a ramp that takes a fully fuelled rocket from behind your living room wall to a launch pad beneath your swimming pool just so Scot can avoid having to walk down a few steps must have been pretty expensive.

lol....I remember being a little kid and watching that wondering if one day some poor bastard was going for a swim. Imagine, the pool shifts and next thing you know is your ears are bleeding and smoke everywhere!

I used to wonder what it would be like for someone in the Tracey Island Roundhouse when TB3 launched, can you imagine having a Saturn V passing through the centre of your conservatory.
