I agree. Kirk has already stayed in the nexus for a while, during the whole Next Generation series, before Picard has shown up. Everything is being shown in the present time while Kirk presumed dead is still staying in the Nexus. Kirk is unaware of the Nexus. Has has been there for many decades.

*picard walks in to find kirk asking the horse to marry him*

@NoDestinyLive4Now -- totally agree.

@JonnyCashmore Actually for all Gene protesting "The federation has no money" it does. They have Credits but they are not used for day to day use. Most times they are used when dealing with non federation aliens (like on DS9), and the TOS enterprise cost 50 billion credits.
Gene didn't want the UFP to have money but in a galaxy with non-UFP aliens and trade going on, the idea of absolutely no money was considered to be stupid, hence why DS9 had starfleet paying for drinks.

picard only saw his dreams. Kirk was reliving his past. Kirk misses his past which is more powerful than a dream.

An odd thing about this scene is that once Kirk is considering leaving the Nexus, he talks about Spock.
...But. One of the reasons why Generations DOESN'T work as a film is that it doesn't assume any knowledge of the series in it's audience. It's a shame that Picard doesn't mention that Spock is alive, (In Picard's time, he's been in TNG in several episodes)
Kirk would then have a strong personal reason to leave: Someone who is his friend, remembers him, and that he wants to see again.

Kirk and Picard are pretty much different type captains of Enterprise. But their hillarious when the're trying to reason with each other! : )))

How would Kirk own a house and sell it in a society with no money?.....I call fucking bullshit!

Kirk shows he knows how to put up a fight with Soran...
Kirk doesn't bail out Picard. Picard bails out Kirk from an illusion he easily falls for.
Picard's the real hero.

@MrFungus420 Okay I'm sorry. That was a little rude. My point was neither one necessarily bailed the other out, they really were just working together, taking on something neither one of them could handle alone.
