At the end of his life Einstein faces the paradox of quantum theory in his struggle to develop a "theory of everything" which would unify all the contradictions in the different theories.

  • These kinds of clips inspire you so much that you think 'i'm gonna learn this stuff and change the world' only to realise that when you get out your old maths text books or something that it is actually a hell of a lot harder than you had first thought.

  • 2:08 scared the shit out of me.

  • i am not clever, i am merely curious. i believe that if you keep asking questions, then the answers will come... and when the solution is simple god is answering...- wow!!!

  • Wow, it seems like even Einstein fell victim to wishful thinking (which I guess makes sense being an imperfect primate, albeit a brilliant one, still imperfect) and wasted the end of his life pursuing it based on this clip. But I can't say, I get all my info from ted dot com and such lol but hopefully one day there will be a real "theory of everything" and I doubt it will necessitate a god, doesn't seem to be going in that direction from what I can tell anyways but there may be opposing evidence

  • He got old. If Einstein could have reverted to 20 years old in about 1950, we would have had the theory of everything in the sixties.

  • "the debate reached a head when a series of arguments exploded between Einstein and Bohr..." "clash of the scientific titans". O FOR QUANTUM'S SAKE STOP MAKING SCIENCE A REALITY SHOW!!! >:C

  • @70k3r74m35 lol same thing as me heck i'm going through a hardcore book called understanding mechanics right now, freaking hard stuff.

  • Okay, the overdramatic sound effects and music in this are just silly

  • If it's any consolation to Einstein, Niels Bohr also struggled until his death with a problem Einstein had proposed to him

  • @EskilNaige Horizon I think

  • What is this from?

  • 5:48 is the most amazing thing i enjoyed seeing. The Universe is such a beautiful and elegant existence :')
