He retired. I had him all year for the last year he taught, and he's still one of the greatest people I know.

I have no idea how you can hate on Gerlach, unless you planned on slacking and found out you'd actually fail if you don't try.

Gerlach came out of retirement and is now teaching at my school, Saint Agnes High school in Saint Paul, for the 2010-2011 school year. hes a legend there already!!!

Gerlach was the best teacher my class had, especially for English. Take a look at our "honors" 12th grade English now: It's a waste of time. I learned more in 11th grad Honors English than in any other class.
