Your first views of the Oasis of the Seas - Rising Tide Bar!
Cruise the Oasis of the Seas BOOK NOW http://www.atlastravelweb.com/Cruiselines.asp
Oasis of the Seas, the world's largest cruise ship. One of the many videos in a series where atlastravelweb.com staff members were part of a media event aboard the Oasis of the Seas, the world's largest cruise ship. The Rising Tide Bar will span three decks and allow cruisers to enjoy a cocktail as they slowly descend from Central Park to the Royal Promenade.

The Royal Caribbean Oasis of the Seas will offer the first ever moving bar at sea. The Rising Tide bar will slowly ascend and descend three decks to allow cruise passengers the ability to enjoy a cocktail as they move through Central Park and various public spaces.

Moving between the Royal Promenade and Central Park on Oasis of the Seas, the Rising Tide is cruising's first elevator bar.

  • looks like one of those things that looks very interesting and exciting but when you try it out for yourself its one big blah

  • What is such a big deal about this? Just take your drink, then go on one of their elevators, sheesh. What would be even more exciting is if the moving bar played loud music and people on the device could dance while it is moving. Then at night light it up to make it look like some kind of dance club...THAT would be unique! People would be lining up just to try it out.

  • That's pretty small bar for a huge ship, and yes I know there are other bars on the ship -.-

  • To people asking what's the point, don't you get it? Getting drunk used to mean hitting the floor, but now man has conquered drunk gravity using technology! That and you get a good view of the...uh...duty free shops

  • wot happens wen u get off for a wee n the u come bck its gone its just a lift wiv drinks pointless

  • its shit

  • It is so cool, until a drunk person falls off.

  • What a waste of money. I can't believe that got built.

  • @Mau56 I can recommend Seabourn. They specialize in smaller but more luxurious ships, with unrivaled service. Most of their ships have 100 - 200 or so suites, almost all with private balcony. I have sailed with them on several occasions and really I don't know that I'd ever try another cruise line, they're that good. You feel like you're on your own private yacht.

  • @dogmonkeybottle Agreed, it is kind of gimmicky. It would be mildly amusing once. I've only sailed aboard smaller cruise ships though, maybe I don't know what I'm missing on a glitzy freakishly ginormous ship.

  • Does anyone else yearn for the smaller, classier ships of the 1980's? I don't want all this rubbish. I want to be at sea and to be able to see the sea. I want fine dining and maybe to watch an entertaining show. I like a smart afternoon tea, a piano bar and some quiet time on deck. Does everything have to descend to the lowest common denominator. I hate to say this because I will be flamed, but I really wish air travel and cruises became more expensive. Sorry.

  • I think Id be there if I went on the Oasis of the seas. As well as other bars on the ship.
