10/27/10 on 'The View', Whoopi and the panel discussed California's Proposition 19 or the Regulate, Control and Tax Cannabis Act of 2010. The panel overwhelmingly seemed to support the legalization of marijuana. Even Barbara Walters brought evidence that showed marijuana does not act as a 'gateway' drug, at least not in Amsterdam. Obnoxiously enough, Eric Holder, The Attorney General, says that even if Prop 19 passes, the government will continue to enforce the laws against marijuana at a federal level.

  • I have made it a policy in my life to avoid drugs, but if there's a person I would smoke weed with, it would be Whoopi.

  • Bunch of chickens bitching.

  • @SolvencyByTaxation Mcdonalds can be addictive? You cant make something illegal for that purpose.. No1 should be able to tell me what i put in my body in the privacy of my own home.. Especially if it doesn't hurt anyone! Drinking bleach isn't illegal but it would probably kill you!

  • Pot can and is very addictive. any argument to the contrary is bullshit. but then again, so is alcohol...

  • The attorney general condemned cause it would put him out of a job! DUH!!! and I'm not even stoned!!

  • Its not that Weed can be 'addictive' ANYONE in the world can have a physical dependance on anything if taken too much, WHY weed hasnt been legalized in the states baffles me, their economy would have BOOMED at the rate there are so many arrests and assaults because of the selling of Marijuana - on another note - Hasselback NEEDS to leave that show, she never ever has anything constructive to say, Shes always like the 'Think of the children' woman from the Simpsons

  • @toastisgreat56 WRONG, Alcohol is a highly addictive substance that leads to actual chemical dependance. The chemical addiction to alcohol is so bad that a person can die from withdrawals. Weed has no chemically addictive substances, NONE. Can someone develop a habit? Sure, but that is all it is, a habit, like jacking off. I suggest you do some research yourself.

  • @metronomic1 Please do some research. I know plenty of people that are addicted to pot. Just because a substance does not alter the body to make it depend of the substance does not mean it is not addictive. There is no addictive substance in alcohol but plenty of people are addicted to that. And people are addicted to plenty of other actives such as gambling and sex.

  • @toastisgreat56 No it cant. There are no addictive substances in weed. None.

  • @macgeek2004 pot can be addictive
