This time he brought his girlfriend. He has a black band around his neck and red on the front of his throat. She is a little plainer with no black ring and no red. But they both have that beautiful iridescent green body. There were too many clouds this day to show them off in their full glory.

I did slow this video down at 2:20-2:51. The guy was showing off for the camera and I wanted him to get his due air time. :)

  • Yeah..I gots to get a feeder..I love them they are like the coolest birds eva!!

  • Wait til one sneaks up behind you and you forget the noise they make. You'll be running across the yard screaming BEES BEES like I did. :)

  • Oh my gosh, I had no idea they made such a loud buzzing noise!

  • I had no idea either. The first time I heard one near me my instinct was to start swatting and run. They will come and feed while I'm standing out there filling things. Even though I know what the sound is now I still have some anxiety about a flying thing making that noise with a 2 inch needle sticking out of its head.

I can't believe you're just now getting to this one. Go watch Random Pics From June 08 before they kill it for music copyright.

  • Hey that is the first time I have ever heard that!! I love it! My mom and dad have a hummingbird feeder but I always watch them thru the window- so I have never heard the humm. WOW cool!-Jamie

  • Yup, it's intense. They are very brave and the first time I heard it I was looking around for a huge mutant wasp/bee. They make little squeaky chirps too. I hear that all over the yard but I don't see them all.

love your video, 5 out of 5

  • I would have paid big bucks to have seen that.

I didn't even know we had them in Mich, Jeremy told me that he saw one, and I told him he was crazy, then like a week later, me and the hubby were out back having coffee and we seen them too, I had no clue they were even in Mich. But I love them so much!!

  • LOL I will do that right now. I watch everyone's old stuff now and then a few at a time. Helps me catch up on what people are talking about sometimes in their vids.

I get very anxious because somewhere I think the bees have a wanted poster up with my picture on it as I can't tell you how many times I've been stung or at least chased. People say the bees like me....are they kidding? They will die to hurt me...they hate me! LOL

  • The ones in this video were 97 cents at Walmart. They were almost perfect. They didn't hold a lot cause the food goes bad in a week especially when its warmer out. And they would never finish what that one holds. The only bad thing is there was no perch for them to land on. They had to feed flying. I added a perch with a coat hanger and hot glue. But since then I upgraded? Check out my "Bird Feeding Station" vid. Just don't get taken in by the larger containers. They're over kill.
