In 2002 my friend and I made a road trip to the Faroe Islands and Shetland. This video is shot in the bay of Scalloway in Shetland, known to be the home base of the Shetland Bus - a fleet of small wooden fishing boats from Norway, transferring refugees and agents between occupied Norway and the free world in WW2. The norwegian feature movie "Shetlandsgjengen" depicts this traffic, using authentic boats and the actual persons who done the very dangerous crossings in WW2 as actors. Well worth seeing, if you can get a copy of the movie. My ride in Scalloway was my trusted Tempo Standard with a Sachs 175(200ccm) engine, it never miss a beat. In this clip you can see the "Norway House", which was a "community centre" for the norwegian sailors in the Shetland traffic. It is the red house on the hilltop. Near to the "Norway House" is the "Prince Olav" slipway, where maintainance on the Shetland traffic fishing boats was carried out, its not so easy to spot in the clip but it's there.
sadly that bench isn't there any more. it was smashed to bits by the little assholes from the fisheries college =/
