(Trig) Signs by The Four Man Mathematical Band

Here is a parody of the song Signs by the Five Man Electrical Band, titled (Trog) Signs. It was written for our pre-calculus class so we wouldn't have to take a mid-term. Written and performed by (from left to right) Leonardo, Alex, Jeff, and John. Enjoy!

So we grabbed our books, pencils, and...TI-83's
We looked up with blank stares cause we didn't know what to do
And she said not to worry, there's three terms I'm gonna teach you

And the first one is...

Sine, sine, if it's what you want to find.
Opposite over hypotenuse will do it every time
On the calculator...under APPS is sine

To find the reference angle of a given angle...this is what you do
If it's in the second quadrant, subtract it from 90 times two
If it's in the third quadrant subtract 180 from theta
In the fourth quadrant, subtract from 360 ...... See ya lata

Cosine, cosine, if it's what you want to find
Adjacent over hypotenuse will do it every time
On the calculator under program is cosine

And the next thing we learned was basic trig graphs
They all go to 2pi on the x-axis
When it starts at the origin, the curve is a sine
When it starts on the y, it's cosine

Tangent, tangent, nothing rhymes with tangent
Opposite over adjacent is how you find tangent
On the calculator under "VARS" is where you find tangent.
It's hard to put in a song cause nothing rhymes with tangent.

And that's trigonometry...

An interesting way to remember the three main trig functions. However the phrase "SOH CAH TOA" is just as good. And plus you left out the other three: secant, cosecant, and cotangent. All 6 trig functions can be related through calculus.
