This group of I AM EQUAL participants from Salt Lake City, Utah is joining thousands of others from around the world in claiming equality for themselves, their family, friends, communities, and all of humanity.

The cause of equality touches all our lives. From protecting the rights and innocence of children, to ensuring the equal treatment of women in the work place; equality is the right of all people around the world.

Regardless of color, creed, religion, sexuality, economic condition, or location, we stand united and claim the fundamental right of equality. Together, we are joined in our power, passion, and freedom and the pursuit of equality for all.

Re: norseczar27, Equality by definition is The state of being equal, in status, rights, and opportunities. FOR ME, that is what this is about. The I am equal photo campaign for equality is a tool for me to share my belief for a need of a change in this world. For example desire for a change that would allow every man the right to participate in social media, there are places in this world where something as common as Facebook and YouTube are not legal.

@norseczar27 I don't know you, and I'm not going to assume anything about you. But I am a 23 year old female trombonist. There aren't many girl trombonists but my being a girl doesn't make me any less of a musician. "I Am Equal" in not JUST a movement for LGBT rights. In fact, in my eyes that's just the very tip of the iceberg. It's about social equality, about being entitled to equal respect, opportunity and love. Equal does not mean the same. You are equal even if you don't see it.
