This Rocket Stove is based on the version I found here on YouTube uploaded by solarwindmama. Thanks it's really fun and so quick to build. It's fairly crude compared to the thermal mass Rocket Heaters found at rocketstoves.com by Ianto Evans. I'd definite build one of those into my eco home on the land, when I get there that is.

This Brick Stove was certainly aided by the top brick acting like a chimney. After only a short while of flames the bricks on the outside become warm to touch.

Great fun or perfect for an emergency.

  • So simple, it's like "why didn't I think of that!" So many applications and variations of the Rocket Stove! Adobe is going to be where it is at. Making one's own bricks and playing with thermal mass vs. insulation and sealing it all up with mud with the ability to reform... I may try soldering up 19 mm (3/4") copper elbowed up and down in a tall fire tube enabling a J tube fuel feed. Circulate hot water or see what temps of instant hot h2o can be had... Thanx for posting this inspiring vid!

  • @tnnss111 yeah and a lot of it....lol

  • I like it when you blow hard...

  • Mine looks just like yours; it really surprised me -- it boiled water really quick. I started mine with charcoal starter (impatient). Great video!!

  • I found that if you make this properly, it will be a lot easier to get going, and keep going. You should really be able to get a vertical flame going away from your fuel(sticks) if it is a rocket stove. Try insulating the heat riser better, and possibly making it retain, and re-burn some of the gases. I have had the best luck with my 2nd revision.

  • I did the same thing as u and then I took some quickcrete and sealed it all together so it wouldn't fall apart
