If your electric cuts out durin cooking, it could well be the element has gone faulty and caused an insulation problem!

Tip simply replace the heater or element or call a company like mine to change it for you!

  • Thank you for the video, the explanation was very good!

If an element is faulty, it should only trip the electric when that same element is turned on, right?

I'm asking because our oven trips the breaker when we try to turn it on, be it the upper grill, the bottom grill or the fan. We have yet to take it out, but could it be an insulation problem (burned) on the wiring? It has happened before to another oven. :/

  • @Yunituber if tripping electric, then more than likely it is an insulation fault, could be wiring, but normally element!

    hope helps

  • @richardsaupe Thank you for the quick response!

We'll follow your advice and take a look at the insulation tomorrow or so.

I should have added that the breaker trips as soon as the selector knob is turned to either setting, even when the temperature knob is turned off.

Once again, thank you very much for the explanation video on elements and your quick response!

  • @Yunituber No problem, check switch for burning, could be problem.

Warning Always disconnect appliance from mains electric supply before attempting any repair, also beware the metal on appliances is very thin and could cause nasty deep cuts, so please wear gloves or be very careful!

  • @richardsaupe Will do. I'm the kind of person that dislikes electricity so much that actually trips the main breaker off AND still checks for current with a voltmeter even if 100% sure there is none.

After working a couple months with electric meters, I've learned to respect electricity. Thank you!
