I actually fixed it too, as you will see. It was also very interesting to see how the "Piano Men" moved our piano. It is backbreaking work. Once into my den, I looked at the mechanics and actually found a loose setscrew on the gear that turns the music drum. Once tightened, it played fine. This is quite an instrument for it's time, and it all runs on air from the foot bellows. Thanks to the folks at Worthington Piano Company, who are experts at moving pianos.

  • NightFlyyer, I have rebuilt a player piano in the past, and YES you were LUCKY to get that one working. I would GUESS that your bellows is leaking, but a player piano needs to be rebuilt every 10 to 15 years as a norm. I noticed you were pumping hard, BEFORE you try to rebuild the lower bellows, buy a book called Player piano servicing and rebuilding by Arthur Reblitz It's kinda like the Bible of player repair. Laterz, LP Piano tuning and repair.

  • Haha. Yeah it didnt work too well since I got it and I would love to put an electric compressor in in there instead. Ill check out that book and thanks for the tips.

  • nice video!

  • Thanks very much. Now when get it fixed, I might try to learn how to play.

  • I love all of my pianos all 27 of them and moving them is not easy.

  • WOW, I would never move them then, as one was not easy for us.

  • Yes needs to be rebuilt

  • Do you play nightflyyer?

  • Nice slippers lol

  • If your getting paid 10 a hour to move a piano your getting took my friend

  • I'm a piano mover, what do all you other movers get paid? I'm getting 10 per hour plus some stupid "bonus". Piano moving companies don't like to tell what movers get paid, so I'm done asking them.

  • I have the exact same piano in my dining room

  • Do you still have the piano

  • this is a very helpful video for first-time piano buyers like me. thanks!

  • Somehow it just figures, Dave...If u didn't already have a player, you were destined to own one. Of course u know if you want to fly RC planes, you gotta know how to FIX RC planes...If you want to play a player piano, u gotta know how to FIX player pianos. @maddog5461 mentioned the Reblitz book... also look into "Rebuilding the Player Piano" by Larry Givens. You can't buy many parts...You need materials...Check out Player Piano Co., Wichita, KS for them. Oh, and pump long, smooth strokes!

  • I own a piano moving company and this is the easiest move I have ever seen. Why not post something with a tight 180 degree turn?
