I don't think so. I've traveled 42 states and Texas has better roads than the majority of them. Look at the highway safety they work on. You might not know it but if you hit a gore sign or large sign structure, it will break away instead of killing the occupants of the vehicle. Read about FHWA 350 criteria and learn something. TxDOT is the standard other states should be following

Here in Texas, roads that don't need to be repaired, are repaired every year. And the roads that do need to be repaired, are never repaired.
