  • I'm not speaking for "us"... I'm giving my opinion, just like all the individuals who have already spoken on the issue. Moderate Dem= Tempered approaches.

  • I grew up with him. I was his neighbor for 5-6 years, and I went to school with him as well (he was a senior in high school when I was a freshman). And I always knew him as a mentally unbalanced bully. He used to hit people, threaten them, call them unspeakable words, etc. We grew up in a fairly liberal city and he was always attacking the beliefs of many. However, his "outing", to me, was a good thing, as maybe his repression of his own sexuality was the cause for his extreme behavior.

  • How about the Mainstream GLBT Treatment of Gay Republicans? I think they're probably treated worse by other gays than straight people.

  • This young man was doing damage to many other young people...he needed to be exposed, and he was.

  • the glbt community wants equality for the str8 but can't even give equality to it own members

  • i wish that i could agree with you. but in all candor i cannot. congressman tancredo is one of the most bigoted conservatives in the g.o.p. that a gay person could identify with such a person shocks me. he knows what he is and what he stands for. it saddens me that quite a few gay people could support such people, other than for greedy and selfish reasons.by the way he is 18 not 10.

  • To the narrow people that compare this man to African-Americans or Jews-- When was an African American or Jew ever raised to believe that they were not what they were? Taken to churches or synagogues every week to be told that person they are is less than others. While the plight of these people is tremendous, it does not compare. They are apples and oranges.

  • To be fussy for a moment, the "gay lifestyle" is a misnomer. Being gay is a caused by genetics, as far as the latest science is concerned, so there is not really a "lifestyle choice" involved. The assumptions behind that phrase create an automatic obstacle to acceptance whenever it is used.

  • What you call the gay militant agenda (Hannity talking points) is also called civil rights. Your party isn't big on the idea. That's why the GOP is mainly composed of just White people. Gays, latinos, blacks, asians, native-americans aren't really welcomed by your party. Most people under 35 understand this. Being gay is like being right-handed to a younger generation.

  • The Cheney family was denounced by the likes of Rush Limbaugh. The theocracy wing of the Republican party doesn't currently accept the gay lifestyle as valid. Ever hear of the definition of marriage amendments being passed in many states? It's meant to discriminate against the gay community. I don't see what's so surprising about self-hating people who work to destroy their own rights and identity.

  • Amen, and thank you. I have had the pleasure of working with Tyler before on conservative projects and I can say that he is an amazing, principled conservative. Who really cares what his orientation is? Live and let live.
