@tb717 Yet she is perfectly charming here. I don't see anything objectionable or rude about her manner.
-
@rocksvids08 Very true - but then again he knew the movie they were plugging (i.e. "Mame)) was a complete dud and he probably felt very awkward.
-
outside of I Love Lucy...i found here well..kinda salty..arrogant..VERY unlike her lucy character.
-
Lucy before the depression of the movies fate set it. She still had hope.

What a HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE interviewer this guy is!...he gets a once-in-a-lifetime interview with a Hollywood Legend and can't get it together...PINHEAD!...

Yes, I knew about the wigs and tape, but I did not know she ever had work done on her eyes. It never looked like it to me.
-
Lucy got the idea from Ann Sothern when she was guest starring on Ann's show, which was produced by Desilu.
-
She did have some work done, as is recorded in the book "Desilu: The Story of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz", by Coyne S. Sanders and Tom Gilbert. This book was blessed by Lucie and Desi Jr. She at least had work on her eyes because the book discusses how dark red her eyelids became and it was very hard for her to heal. Starting in the late 50's, and on through the rest of her career, Lucy would use a contraption with adhesive tape to pull her skin back, then conceal the tape under her wig.
-
Lucy always looked somewhat older than other celebs her age because she would not submit to plastic surgery. Was scared to death of 'needles' and she never had any facelifts. Plus she was a heavy smoker, and worked under hot studio lights from the 30's to the 80's.
