Fresh off what appears to be either a rock show or an ice fishing excursion, Regina Zernay of Cowboy Mouth introduces us to her bass, a Gibson SG Reissue. Regina tells us how she decided on this bass and how she decided to use it.

  • What is this? A joke? She is an excellent player. I just don't get it.

  • Back in the day, this bass was called the Gibson EB3, NOT the SG bass. It had 2 pickups. The one pickup version was the EB0. I had one when I played w/ cowboy mouth from 1991 thru 1995.. It was a 1965 EB0. It drove the soundman crazy, because it didn't have a pickup at the bridge, just the humbucker at the neck... it had no highs. it always sounded muddy, even w/ new strings. But it looked good! I mostly used an old fender precision, live, and on the first three 'mouth' CDs. It sounded better.

  • she can't be any skinnier

  • Oh my God..I Felt in Love by they both!

  • A great technical bassist. I love her simple approach. Regina proves that you don't have to be too flashy, or modify your gear a ton to rock.

  • Yep, you can use normal scale strings, you just need to cut them down a bit more than you would with a 34 or 35" scale neck.

  • what kind of strings use this bass? can i put standard strings?
