Thanks for the reply, I'll be sure to check it out. I'm not too familiar with rockabilly overall, outside of Elvis and Roy Orbison, but I do like a lot of the guitar techniques, and think I will find a lot of things I like when I dig into the genre.
I did learn this song with a pick, but it's very awkward to play.
Nice Tele, Ric. Is it a re-issue? And is the pickguard a replacement?
Great lesson, thanks.

Hi David
The Tele is a 1997 "California Series" . The guitar was made in USA but painted and finished in Mexico. I bought it in a 2nd hand store a few years ago and replaced the original pickups and the bridgeplate. As for the scratchplate- that is the same one that was there when I got it. Perhaps the previous owner replaced it.
Cheers

Do you have any advice on that rockabilly style of fingerpicking, or where to go for it? Fingerpicking has always been a weak point of mine, although I'm decent with it in folk songs.

The country/rockabilly fingerpicking is a great thing to have as a guitarist. There is a book/CD written by a guy called Ted Sokolow that is fabulous for what you want. It is called "Rockabilly Guitar" and published by Mel Bay. There is also a set of DVDs by the same author. Don't despair if you find it difficult at the start. The discipline of learning it will reward you many times over. Merry Christmas and greetings from Oz

Thanks Danny.
I have since made some adjustments to the intonation and changed the strings. May even re-do the video one day to keep the groaners quiet. Merry Christmas - Ric T
