Pepe - BOSS ODB-3 Bass OverDrive Demo

A small demonstration to show the sound spectrum of the BOSS ODB-3. I conciously played the overdrive pedal without an amplifier to get the unaltered output sound. Naturally I know that any distortion pedal sounds better when it is played through an amp.

Ich habe den Overdrive mit voller Absicht nicht über einen Verstärker gespielt, um das Ausgangssignal des Effekts nicht zu verfälschen. Natürlich bin ich mir bewusst, dass jeder Verzerrer noch viel besser klingt, wenn man ihn vor einen guten Amp schaltet!

Oh, for almost 15 years now. But it's not my main instrument. I tend to invest more time into improving my synthesizer and piano playing skills.

Overdrive is just a kind of distortion among a few. You will find various websites which describe how each method works. Try Google. It's too much to explain it with 500 letters. ;o)

I am not familiar with "Rise Against", so I don't know what the bassist uses. Maybe he used a very expensive "boutique" pedal, maybe something cheap. There are so many distortion pedals for guitar out there that can be used for bass as well. Maybe he used a special amp and cranked it up to the maximum. There are some bass forums in the web, maybe you should search them and give it a try there. I can't help at the moment.
