Salamun Ailaikum marcschuck
It is said to be the "heart of the Qur'an" because the verses of Ya Sin address most of the basic themes of the Qur'an. In other words, reading Surah Ya Sin is an excellent indicator of the tone of the Qur'an and its ideas. It speaks on such issues as the origin of life, the nature of the Hereafter and calling the people towards religion.
