I never thought an African american Actress could translate as Elphaba till now... BUT NOW .. Elphaba is RACELESS... I could totally see Beyonce playing her in a film version opposite Kate Hudson as Glinda

Who said this audience were Kerry fans to begin with? And just because your favourite Elphaba has left the show doesn't mean no one should like or appreciate any of the replacements.
Idina Menzel is my personal favourite Elphaba but when Shoshana Bean replaced her on Broadway and Kerry Ellis in London I still enjoyed their performances and saw Kerry 3 times and showed my appreciation after every song and curtain call.
