Here is the late Maureen Forrester singing Handel's beautiful "Praise Be to Thee" and also Henri Duparc's "Chanson triste". John Newmark is the pianist.
This recital was given in 1967 at the Montreal Expo. The program also included her singing of Purcell ("Dido's Lament"); Mahler; Paladilhe's exquisite "Psyché" (no one sang this song like Forrester!) and Debussy's "Mandoline" (in a separate upload here); and Robert Fleming's cycle "The Confession Stone".
Can't imagine anyone else even touching this!

Haendel with her is so great. If by any chance somebody will have the aria Crude furie from Xerxes and put it on youtube, it is something with the vocalisation!
