i have tried making a smear with a cover slip instead and it works good too

my medical technology program/ hospital needs those things to aliquot that blood to the slide from the cbc lavender tube. We now use small wooden dowels to check for agglutination and spot slides for staining.

@TheBunnieGirl I know, but I just didn't think that was "enough of a feathering effect" that's all. I've been having too look at some pretty crappy smears and it seems like it would just be so much easier if people would just make a wider smear.

It took me way more than 5 attempts to get a "perfect" smear to begin with! It is the kinda of thing that requires practice... lots of it!
