I have the impression, that her style is kind of... I don't know, a little less soft and smooth than others... (I'm not a pro, so correct me, if I'm wrong). But I think her style fits the role/scene perfectly. @Pirouettedancer90 This is maybe what you call strained, in my impression it's just her interpretation of the scene. =)

Aurelie Dupont's acting is on self-restraint, sobriety. She is not real in this part, she is Don Quichotte's dream. She has to play, to embody, an Ideal. She distances herself from the Human's (mortal) world !
