WHY DOES JON SOPEL NEVER MAUL ANYONE FROM THE LABOUR PARTY???? IT GETS ON MY FUCKING NERVES EVERYTIME I SEE THIS GUY ON TV, USUALLY THE POLITICS SHOW, GIVING SOME LIB DEM OR TORY A FUCK LOAD OF CRITICISM AND YET HE NEVER EVER QUESTIONS ANYONE FROM THE LABOUR PARTY LIKE THAT!!
-
@GloopX We are looking at both sides of the story - except one is far worse than the other. Ashcroft is just playing the system, just like the millions of living on welfare - both of which are LEGAL, but the LibDems are effectively taking stolen money and refusing to give it back to the victims!!! This is FAR worse. For me, I dont care who you vote for, but I really DONT want this sort of party in power!

The system was only dirty and corrupt when the people found out about it, until then it suited this lot fine.
-
Take the money out of politics that will sort this mess out.
-
Talking of taking huge amounts of money from fraudsters, the conservatives took £5.1M from Lord Ashcroft a famous tax dodger. So in effect he took money away from britain and then gave it straight to the conservatives, which Mr Cameron is all too happy to receive, look at both sides of the story people...

Wow, what a sanctimonius hypocrite. Cable has been shown up for the disgusting money grubbing toad he really is.
-
Lib Dems: "Weak on crime. Weak on returning the proceeds of crime."
-
Just goes to show that the Lib Dems are just as worse as the other two. So the real choice here is vote Lib Dem for more of the same; plus more, as Labour gets into power, or try change with a fresh leadership approach and local MPs who will fight for you from the Conservatives.
Vince Cable claims there's nothing immoral about keeping the money. It's incredible!

i thought so too but then somebody pointed out this to me:
if somebody stole your wallet and bought an ipod, would apple be morally obligated to pay you back?
if your employer paid you a salary then was convicted of fraud, would you be expected to pay your salary back?
This happened quite a while ago, and they probably would have spent all of it by the time they found there was anything wrong. Expecting them to pay it back is effectively punishing them for somebody elses mistake.
