This is fresh and unedited footage of the Vancouver 2010 closing ceremony featuring Tangible Interaction's Zygote Balls.

A Zygote is an interactive LED ball that responds to human touch, changing colour as it's tapped by a crowd or audience. It can also be DMX controlled, acting as a controllable, stand alone lighting device.

Twenty Zygote Balls were released into the stadium at the 2010 Winter Olympics closing ceremony, connecting the stadium audience and athlete's with each other through play. A TV audience of 2.5 billion watched globally.

We conceived the Zygote Ball back in 2006 and since then, it's featured at numerous live concerts, music videos, raves and corporate events. But for us, this is a banner event, and in our hometown of Vancouver, BC.
