Sen John McCain, whose entire GOP campaign is based on his national security cred, has been repeatedly claiming a relationship between (Shia) Iran and (Sunni) al Qaeda. That is ridiculous.

ThinkProgress: "Far from working together, Iran and al Qaeda represent opposing sides in the Iraq civil war. Al Qaeda is a Sunni Muslim extremist group, while Iran is ruled by Shiites, where they make up 90 percent of the population. ..."

Washington Post's FactChecker: "McCain's Foreign Policy 'Gaffe'"
http://blog.washingtonpost.com/fact-checker/2008/03/mccains_foreign_policy_ga...

McCain is either naive or disingenuous about basic Middle Eastern affairs. In either case, it completely undermines his entire campaign built on his so-called national security strengths.

  • Why is it that this video is in the "most blogged" section of google video, but here it says 45 views, 5 ratings and 3 comments...????

    Is youtube corrupt?

  • I think it had more to do with the fact that out of the first 20 views it had been given 5 stars and had been favorited 4 or 5 times already. I don't think they just go by views.

  • Is he an idiot or is he trying to trick us into a war with Iran?

  • That's a trick question.

    The answer is 'C'

    Both.

  • Obama already spent more on the stimulus bill than Bush did on the Iraq War.

I didn't support Bush either. Just sayin'...

  • McCain/Palin in '08? I feel sorry for all those bright, scrutinising Americans, Democrat and Republican alike, who have their electoral process shown up by the likes of those two.

  • haha thats funny is he american president.!!!

    how he gots here?

  • Al Qeuda is Sunni, Iran is Shiite. They would be much more likely to fight each other!

  • McCain would continue Bush's economic policies that do NOT work. Our economy begins to falter each time a Repubican is President! Herbert Hoover - Great Depression Dwight Eisenhower - 1957 Recession Richard Nixon - 1971 Recession Gerald Ford - stagflation in 1973 Ronald Reagan - "Black Monday," Oct. 19, 1987 George H. W. Bush - 1991 Recession George W. Bush - largest federal deficit! We cannot afford perpetual war. We deserve a change. Doesnt know anything about al queda as well
  • "Terrible, explosive IEDs?" What absolute nonsense, coming from a soldier who KNOWS that he's being dishonest! ALL effective weapons are terrible, all weapons cause severe wounds!

It's a typical propaganda move to describe the enemy's weapons as somehow more cruel or unfair- WE use mines, which are professionally made IEDs (manufactured explosive devices)!

I expect McCain will soon be telling horror stories of Iranians smashing babies against walls (used ever since the Spanish-American war).

  • "Al Qaeda is killing Americans as we speak" LOL...

  • Q: What's the difference between George Bush and Sarah Palin?

    .

    .

    .

    A: Lipstick

  • Yes he is a dumb ass; but the republicans out number us 2-1. Beside the electoral vote doesn't mean shit anyways, and they'll figure out some way to get him in office. So let us greet or new president "John Mc Cain" @#$%! Learn to live with it life is not far; he should be good for a lot of laughs just like his but buddy Bush. Join me in moving to Canada or Europe (if you can afford it) they got far better health care anyways.

  • If McCain is elected, this will be the end of this great democracy, by proving that the PEOPLE are not smart enough to even see lies and untruths. This will be the end of Democracy in the world and will prove that a democratic state cannot govern itself and protect its own interests in the world.
