@Balencian He died early to spare himself the trouble. Given the disintegration of the state after Xinhai revolution and Yuan Shikai's attempt at reestablishing the monarchy, the only thing other warlords would have been forced to follow on Sun's idea is by pointing a gun at them. That is the language they understood talk about democracy from them is hollow talk.

@spike378 The answer is nobody. The way I define prosperity is the wealth trickling down to the people. There has been some questions as to who actually is making the money in China. It seems like the bigshots in china are definately enriching themselves but what about the average peasant? What about the average city dweller? Peasants definately are being left behind the city dwellers? Maybe some are others maybe struggling to make ends meet. China is still at the low end of the development.

@spike378 Sun died prematurely. That was a great tragedy for china. Chiang Kai Shek was not incompetent the people associated with his regime were corrupt. Communism didn't bring prosperity. They are pseudocommunists. They are pretty much capitalist without the capitalist lega framework.

@kipperthehero Manchu is the ethnic group that established the Qing dynasty. Within the last 1000 years they've been known by various names. Mohe/Malgal->Jurchen->Manchu

The least corrupted leader in Modern China's history. I think he is actually one of the few (if not only) Chinese leader that did not soaked his hands with blood of his own people.
