Farm animals, were, are and will be raised to make food, or in our current state for the last few thousand years, money. There is nothing cruel in that. 5 months isn't so much. In the long run, you should really make sure your B12 stays OK. Better be safe than sorry!

There's nothing wrong about one or two supplements. Especially when compared to enslaving and killing animals.

In some animal products, the B12 comes from the supplements that the animal was fed, and many animal products come with added vitamins and whatnot, now isn't that ironic.

@BansheeVanRaven you're wrong, i'm a vegan since 5 months and i don't take any suppliments. I wanted to take to it, but i think i was too lazy, i was eating mostly just sandwiches. And i went to the doctor some days ago and we made a medical. And you know what? I don't have a lack of anything, my vitamins are in norm. It isn't truth that without suppliments we are sick.

@OaklandWhiteElephant oh, it is? so why are those vegans i mentioned suffering from B12 defiecency? they are hardcore vegans, no suppliments. Without suppliments they got sick, so how exactly is it natural to be vegan when most need really odd stuff and/or suppliments? It's not the diet, it's the source of the food. Just like you wouldn't eat from a sick plant, don't eat a sick animal and/or products. Go organic.

*sigh* Listen. Chickens are food animals alone. Do they have other purpose? No. i know you get eggs from them, but that means they are F.O.O.D animals. same with cows and pigs. now i agree, they can have better living conditions and can be killed more humanely. BUT. Meat is a requirement. Soy has been found to lead to many health problems...including some forms of cancer. Meat on the other hand is a requirement. So just remember this. Soy can't replace meat, and chickens,pigs and cows are food..
