@dlastqueen Cris never cheated on Van, but she did cheat on him. She played that John/Nat game with Cris with Todd as Gnat. We're just friends, she would say, and she kissed Todd. That's not friendship, and I much as I loved the character of Van, she cheated on RJ and Cris, and that made her very wrong.
Actions do speak louder than words, and John's actions proved it was all about Gnat. He left Van to burn at the stake, to burn. No more words were needed. He said it all.

@dlastqueen You know, after reading this post, I have to say that you have presented an interesting argument. There is the notion that "actions speak louder than words" and in this case John showed, through his actions, that he loved Vange. I think Vange was afraid of the "what if." She was strong, but strong women can have doubts too. She wanted to leave before left...to choose to save herself. If Chris loved her so much, why did he run to the first warm body he could find?

@AJSP35801 I keep thinking of the scene after they tell Todd that Marget died, and Van has John drive her to the gym to see Cris. The look on his face when he went back to bring her jacket to here and he saw her with Cris. That was a man full of regrets.

@94take Well Natalie didn't mind waiting. Evangeline felt she deserved more than that. And really she did. Why should she be content with long looks and kisses and not hear a man tell her that he loves and constantly rush off to save another woman? Don't get me wrong, I like Natalie although her character has really taken a plunge, but I respected Evangeline and if he ended up with either of them, I wasn't mad. But Natalie did chase John but he let her catch him. Van was like no way! LOL

I think its funny how everyones so proud that Evangeline didn`t settle, but was so happy when Natalie did. But i guess Natalie was willing to wait years for him to change and what it`s 2011 and he still has`nt in truth Natalie got what she wanted now she wants him to change. She might as well shut up and deal she got exactly what she wanted no point in him changing now. Im glad this show is done these last couple of years after Van has been plain sad love Tess/Jess though.

jmwhite1001 I have disagree with you. I don't think Van was too dramatic at all. I think her emotions and what she is feeling is right on point. think about it, the man that she is in love with, chose another woman over her in a life and death situation. That has to be a bitter pill to swallow especially when you have given all of yourself to him, expressed your feelings in more ways than one only to find out that you were being played. Vange didn't play the game, she was in it for keeps.

@sandnin1 I agree with what you said. I loved both Jovan and Jolie. If he was gonna be with anyone it should be Vange or Nat but he should have told Vange that he loved her. All the blame shouldn't be on Nat, John was responsible for how Vange felt and he disregarded her feelings. No man who is complete toward a woman and runs to another. He loved both of them and he had to make a choice and he refused to make the choice so Vange made it for him. A strong woman. I am glad she didn't settle.

@jmwhite1001 Up until Natalie was rescued, they had us believing that he still wanted Vange. And even when he got with Natalie, there times when he would be ALL up on Vange with longing eyes. But definitely after the prison riots when she was TOdd's lawyer during the murder trial, he really was trying to get her back. Under the guised of friendship though. It hurts to watch them but I am glad Vange didn't play that friends game with John that Natalie did. He sure wanted too.

All I know is that Natalie is still missing, but John is in the park KISSING Evangeline Williamson! He's practically begging for another chance, instead of investigating. Lol! Van was a little too dramatic here for me. Stupid writers.

@dlastqueen I understand where your coming from but sometimes you just need to hear the words being said. She loved John and wanted to hear him say I love you to her. That was something special to her.
*cries* i miss Evangeline! If they kill her off, I swear to God, I'm going to leave the show for good!

I would've agreed with you before, but at this point in the story, that's not even the issue. In a life or death situation, he didn't choose her. That says a lot.
