Real Beauty? HA! Just ask them why they need to sell a skin lightening cream in Egypt and India, or even photoshop their ads?

Dove's campaign for real beauty commercials sucked:(
I'm so pleased those old, fat, ugly women are finally gone from my TV screen

This isn't about not selling their product; this is about selling their product through positive marketing. And it is a great strategy and I think probably a healthier one, and ultimately if they do some good in the process I'm sure they see that as a plus as well.

Moreover, they're hitting a lot of demographics, like older people or people who just feel they CAN'T look good, in this way. The trick is that by making you feel good and associating it with their products, you use their product the same way you use fast food - fast food is great-tasting but ultimately unnecessary, same with their product, but because they both make you feel good you buy both.

People who are saying this is about putting people over product or is altrustic are falling for this absolutely brilliant marketing campaign. A lot of beauty companies make you feel terrible to buy their product; Dove is trying to make you associate feeling good with their name.

Oh hush. it's no different from the way guys act. They don't ever want the nice girls with class. NO, they'd all rather have the self absorbed sluts. Then they say that's not what they want, but actions speak louder than words.

just thought i'd say-i'm sick of people saying that you have to be skinny, have perfect skin, and straight white teeth to be pretty.
it annoys me.

If we all looked alike, think how boring this world would be. Everyone is unique and this is what is beautiful.
