Ipod touch 2g Mc 3.1.3 downgrade error 28

I have a 2g MC model and i jailbroke it with 3.1.3 and it worked perfectly (twice).

I recently updated to 4.0 and cannot downgrade. Any advice?

@pc815 I havent gone to 4.0 yet because the jailbreak is a little confusing. Im happy where im at right now. For now Just stay on 4.0 until a better jailbreak comes out

i think its a hardware problem. my bro got one last week with 3.1.3 and downgraded. it worked fine. i got mine yesterday, and its not working. im gonna return it and try again.

@DarkNova07 I got mine last week and got the same error. spirit jailbreak has been released just yesterday I believe, i just got mine jailbroken, hope that helps

you have to get ireb rc-3 pr ireb rc-4 and then put your device in the dfu and then it will say flashed with steak4sauce or limerain. then go into itunes have your device connected and then press shift and restore at the same time then pick the firmware (software) that you want to go to and thats it.

i have an easier way, just bury it in rice for 24 hours and problem solved, it worked for me, it might work for others too

HELP !!!!!!!!!! ive got the itouch 3G 3.1.3 , it was jailbroken with spirit . was working perfectly then it just turned off ! the ipod is practically dead ! when i plug it into itunes it says its in recovery mode. when i restore and update to 4.0 or shsh back to 3.1.3 it comes up with that stupid error !! any ideas ??

I got the same problem (error 28) how ever if there is only a way to downgrade without connecting to Apple server....(so it wont check the version) ;)
