It is so much easier if instead of swinging your arms side to side, you swing them front to back. In my club, we say "thumb to nose, palm to bum". We bring our hand up about to where yours is in front of you but a little more parallel. However, our back hand is right next to our butt with our palm open facing up. This way you don't have to focus on getting your arms through the space where your leg should be. Instead, nothing interferes with your arms or your legs.
Joey, you are a role model to younger skaters. Great work, keep it up and it would be fantastic to see you on ice in the Olympics! Davis, Hedrick and Mantia to take the pursuit gold medal!
I think you can't load all weight on one leg and keep the current technique and timing on the slide board. Now you slide with one straight leg and the other bent and mostly loaded, and you keep the same body position across the board until hitting the other side. Should you try to lift the straight leg while loading the bent one entirely and keeping your body static, you will fall over when hitting the block. Avoiding it requires change in recovery timing and dynamic body while sliding

Good Luck on long track ice
Look forward to seeing you there.
Do you also train shorttrack on ice in summer?
Or just inline?
