@natewebs Well, you have a point. Mangini is not a world class songwriter like Portnoy, but a dramatic turn of events was written without Portnoy, and the album is a lot beter than anything of their latest up o that point, well maybe besides a couple of songs... but this album is consistant, and most of all, it sounds like dream theater. Portnoy was pulling the band in a less progressive direction, which is all good and the music was awesome, but it wasn't dream theater quality.

@danlc95 You kind of ARE stupid because DT, as of yet, hasn't written ANYTHING with Mangini. He recorded on Dramatic Turn but was NOT involved in the writing process at all. Portnoy is an amazing drummer, but was also a key songwriter in DT alongside JP. Mangini is one of the most amazing drummers in the world, but he isn't a world-class songwriter like MP.
